New Strategy, Private Banking Head at First National

First National Bank of Pennsylvania has hired David Yates in the new position of senior vice president, corporate strategies co-ordinator. He will also lead the private banking segment in all of FNB's market areas.

Joining from National City, Mr Yates will report to Vincent Delie, president, banking group.

In the strategy role, Mr Yates will oversee a number of high-level initiatives identified by First National Bank's executive management committee. These are focused on optimising the bank's overall performance, with an emphasis on process improvement and efficiency, product development and enhancement, and customer service.

The new role was created to provide for enhanced execution of various strategic initiatives that cross functional lines. The improved co-ordination of efforts among the various sales teams and support units is expected to bring strategic concepts to realisation faster and more effectively.

First National Bank of Pennsylvania, the largest subsidiary of FNB Corporation, has 225 full-service locations in Pennsylvania and Ohio, and loan production offices in Florida and Tennessee.
